Tour of New Orleans Group Ride

| | Comments (0)
The Tour of New Orleans is a year-round group ride. Originally set up as an alternative to the New Orleans Giro group ride/hammer-fest, it hopefully will become another route for New Orleans cyclists to keep from getting bored stiff from riding the levee or Lakeshore Drive. This ride starts at the Audubon Zoo and goes through Kenner, Lakefront, New Orleans East, 9th Ward, French Quarter, Garden District and Uptown. The pace (with the group) is typical winter training pace, nothing that'll make your eyes cross. It can also be easily added to for extra miles, or cut short at Lakeshore Drive, giving you the option of a 2,3 or 4 hours ride. As mapped, it is 53 miles and has a couple of grassy sections (100 feet or less) which are better than most paved roads in N.O.. Bring money for coffee and biegnets.
